Delete Your Quibit Account
1. Account Deletion Overview
You own your Quibit account and you can delete it at any time. This page explains exactly how the deletion process works, what gets removed, what is temporarily kept, and how to recover your account if you change your mind.
Quibit uses a two-stage deletion model: a 30-day soft-delete recovery window followed by permanent removal of your personal data from our servers.
Delete your account in Profile > Settings > Account > Delete Account. Your account is hidden immediately and you have 30 days to restore it by signing back in. After 30 days, your personal data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
2. How to Delete Your Account
Account deletion is fully self-service from inside the Quibit app and website. You do not need to email support or fill out a form.
2.1 Steps to Delete
Sign in to Quibit on the mobile app or web
Tap your profile picture / avatar to open your Profile
Open Settings
Tap Account
Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the screen
Read the on-screen confirmation explaining what will happen
Enter your password to confirm it is really you
Tap Confirm Delete
You will be signed out of every device immediately after confirming.
2.2 What to Do Before You Delete
These steps are optional but strongly recommended, because they cannot be reversed after the 30-day recovery window ends:
Download your data in Settings > Privacy > Download Your Data (posts, comments, messages, profile, follow graph)
Request a wallet refund if you have a remaining prepaid balance â unused balance is forfeited after permanent deletion
Transfer ownership of any pages, channels, or organizations you own that you want to keep alive
Cancel any active paid subscriptions, page boosts, or ad campaigns to avoid further billing
Save important media (photos, videos, documents) you posted or received
2.3 If You Cannot Sign In
If you have lost access to your account and cannot reach the in-app delete screen, contact us so we can verify your identity and process the deletion manually.
Email [email protected] from the email address registered on the account
Use the subject line "Quibit Account Deletion Request"
Include your username and the phone number or email on the account
We will respond within 7 business days and may ask for additional identity verification
3. 30-Day Recovery Window
When you delete your Quibit account, it is not erased instantly. It enters a 30-day soft-delete state. During this window your account exists in our database but is hidden from everyone, including you.
If you sign in to Quibit with the same credentials within 30 days of deletion, your account is automatically restored with your posts, messages, follows, pages, and wallet balance intact.
3.1 What Happens Immediately on Deletion
Your profile, username, and avatar disappear from search and discovery
Your posts, videos, news, blogs, and listings are hidden from feeds and profile pages
Other users can no longer message you, follow you, or see you in their contact list
You are signed out of every device (mobile and web)
Push notifications and emails stop being delivered
Pages, channels, and organizations you own are hidden from public listings
Your wallet balance is frozen â no purchases, top-ups, or transfers can be made
3.2 How to Recover Within 30 Days
Restoring your account is as simple as signing back in:
Open the Quibit app or website and tap Sign In
Enter the same email or phone number and password you used before deletion
Quibit will detect the pending deletion and ask you to confirm you want to restore
Tap Restore Account
Your full account is reactivated, including posts, messages, follows, pages, and wallet balance
If you used social sign-in (Google, Apple), use the same provider you signed up with.
3.3 What Other Users See During the Window
Your name in old chat threads and comments appears as a generic placeholder (e.g., "Deleted User")
Direct messages you sent remain visible to their recipients in their own copy
Posts you made in groups, discussions, or town chats remain in those conversations but are no longer attributed to a clickable profile
You do not appear in any search results, mention pickers, or follower lists
4. What Happens After 30 Days
If you do not sign back in within 30 days, an automated job permanently deletes your personal data. This step is irreversible â there is no "undelete" after this point, and Quibit, Inc. employees cannot recover the data either.
After the 30-day window expires, your account and personal data are permanently destroyed. We cannot restore them under any circumstances.
4.1 What Is Permanently Deleted
Account credentials, password hash, and authentication tokens
Profile (display name, bio, avatar, language and location preferences)
Your posts, videos, news, blogs, jobs, and listings
Direct chat messages you sent (in your account scope)
Comments, reactions, and follow/follower relationships
Pages, channels, and organizations you owned (unless ownership was transferred)
Locally cached data is removed when you uninstall the app or clear app storage
Push notification tokens registered to your devices
Session records in Redis and authentication databases
4.2 What May Be Retained (and Why)
A small subset of data may be retained beyond 30 days, but only for the specific purposes allowed by law:
- Wallet top-up receipts and transaction records are retained for 3 years to comply with tax and anti-money-laundering regulations
- Invoices for ads, boosts, and paid subscriptions are retained for the period required by tax law
- These records identify the transaction, not your active profile
- If your account was reported for abuse, harassment, fraud, or child-safety violations, the related investigation records may be retained to enforce our policies and protect other users
- Records required by law enforcement under valid legal process are retained as required
- Messages you sent to other people remain in their own message history â they are part of their data, not yours
- Posts in groups, channels, and discussions are part of that community's record
- We cannot delete content from other users' devices or accounts
- Fully anonymized, aggregated usage statistics (e.g., total daily active users, post counts) that cannot be linked back to you
- Encrypted backups may contain your data for up to 180 days from deletion before being overwritten on rotation
- Backups are not used to restore deleted accounts
4.3 Wallet Balance Forfeiture
Any prepaid wallet balance remaining on your account at the time the 30-day window expires is permanently forfeited.
Refund requests must be submitted before permanent deletion
After permanent deletion, we have no way to identify or pay out the balance
Refund requests can be sent to the support address with proof of identity
5. Pages, Channels, and Organizations You Own
If you own a Page, Channel, Organization, or business profile on Quibit, deleting your personal account affects those entities too.
5.1 Transfer Ownership Before Deleting
If you want the page or organization to keep running, transfer ownership to a co-admin before deleting your account
Transfer is done in the Page / Organization settings under Members & Roles
After transfer, the new owner becomes the sole owner and can manage the entity independently
5.2 If You Do Not Transfer
Pages, channels, and organizations with no other owner are hidden during the 30-day recovery window along with your account
If you recover your account within 30 days, they are restored automatically
If your account is permanently deleted, these entities are also permanently deleted
Verified handles are released back to the pool only after permanent deletion
6. Regional Rights
Deletion via the in-app flow satisfies most legal data deletion rights worldwide, including:
GDPR (EU/EEA/UK) â Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
CCPA/CPRA (California) â Right to delete personal information
PIPA (South Korea) â Right to delete personal information
LGPD (Brazil) â Right to data deletion
6.1 Filing a Formal Data Deletion Request
If you prefer to file a formal deletion request under one of these laws instead of using the in-app flow:
Email [email protected] with subject line "Data Deletion Request â Quibit"
Specify which law you are exercising rights under
Include your username and the email/phone on the account so we can verify identity
We respond within the time limit required by the applicable law (typically 30 days)
7. Frequently Asked Questions
7.1 Can I undo deletion after 30 days?
No. After the 30-day recovery window expires, your data is permanently erased and cannot be recovered by you or by Quibit, Inc.
7.2 Can I reuse my username after deleting?
Usernames are released back into the pool only after permanent deletion (i.e., after the 30-day window). Reuse is not guaranteed â someone else may claim it first.
7.3 Does deleting Quibit also delete my QuiTalk account?
Quibit and QuiTalk share a single Quibit, Inc. account. Deleting your account from Quibit deletes the same account across all Quibit, Inc. apps that use it. If you only want to stop using one app, just sign out and uninstall instead of deleting.
7.4 Will my messages and posts disappear from other people's view?
Direct messages remain in the recipient's copy with your name replaced by a placeholder. Posts in groups and communities remain as part of that community's record. We cannot reach into other users' devices or accounts to remove content you shared with them.
7.5 What if I just want a break, not full deletion?
Use Settings > Account > Deactivate Account instead. Deactivation hides your account without scheduling permanent deletion, and you can reactivate at any time by signing back in. There is no 30-day countdown.
